Fall Capsule Wardrobe reflection, Austin Michelin Guide, India packing list purchases
Before we get into today’s post, I just wanted to give y’all a heads up that I will be skipping the next two newsletters so I can unplug during our trip to India! Thank you all for your continued support 💗 I’ll be back on Sunday, Dec 8 to share more about my trip!
Hello and happy Sunday!
The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of travel and preparation for even more travel. Our wedding is about 3 months away and we are nearing the final stretch of planning - I can’t believe it!!
It’s been about 2 months since I put together my Fall Capsule Wardrobe. I absolutely loved the exercise of putting this together as it forced me to find creative ways to incorporate pieces I already had and helped ensure that any new purchases would fill gaps and get worn. I find that about two months into my capsule wardrobe, I’m getting a bit bored and I’ve been reaching to other items in my closet to bring in fresh colors or silhouettes. I think that’s completely okay as I’m not “bored” of the items in the capsule, I just want to be more creative and pair them with items I already own. Will I be repeating this exercise in future seasons? Absolutely.
In other news, The Michelin Guide arrived in Texas this year, which is exciting for putting the Texas food scene on the culinary map! They announced their 2024 Michelin Winners this month and although I’m no food critic, there were several surprises - both for restaurants that were included and restaurants that were excluded. My two favorite restaurants, Uchiko and Canje, weren’t mentioned at all. I’m so curious about how these decisions are made! Does anyone know?
My fiancé and I had the chance to try out a new Pizza restaurant called Loudmouth in East Austin last night - it was really yummy. The restaurant has a beautiful, large patio and it was buzzing. I can see myself making this a staple!
A few of the items I ordered for India arrived last week and surprisingly, all of them were perfect fits:
Quince linen pants* - The 25” inseam is perfect for me, at 5’2”. If you’re taller, I’d recommend checking out some of their other linen pants, which have a longer inseam. The linen on these pants is a bit stiff, but I think it’ll soften over time. I ordered colors Deep Navy, Martini Olive, and Chocolate and plan to wear them with Everlane tshirts and linen shirts I already own.
Tevas* - These are really comfy out of the box! The pair I ordered also has a nice thick base, which adds some height and will help navigating different terrains. I love the beige color as well as I think it’ll pair well with the linen pants and different outfits I plan to wear.
3L shoulder bag* - I love this shoulder bag! I love the interchangeable straps and the bag has extra padding, which wasn’t obvious when I read the description online. I also love the extra zipper pocket on the outside of bag.
I hope you all have a lovely couple of weeks! I’ll see you after my trip!
Warmly,

Argh, love those quince pants but they don’t seem to ship to Canada 😢
