This bag is very similar to my APC Grace (burgundy) and Eva (black) bags which I’ve worn for years and wear TONS. If you have a chance to touch one, I’d love to know your thoughts on it.

I’ve found brown is definitely a tricky colour to get right…you’re right that the shade is makes it or breaks it in terms of wearability! The clasps are secure on both my bags. The leather I think is similar and I’m mindful of scratching it but at the same time I don’t mind when things look a bit worn in.

I've had my eye on the APC Grace for a while! I went back and forth between the two before deciding to go with the Sezane Milo, but I definitely need to give this brand a try now that I've sold the Milo. Really helpful to hear that the clasps are secure on both of your bags! They've also got this "Chestnut" color available at the moment, which might just be the perfect shade of tan I'm looking for: https://www.apc-us.com/collections/women-bags-grace/products/grace-small-bag-pxbmw-f61413-1?variant=33307344797795. Will definitely share my thoughts after I purchase!

I got a nice deal from Matches on the larger size APC Grace in chestnut and promptly bought it in black. It’s such a polished classic bag. The clasp isn’t loud and it holds just enough :)

So good to know about the clasp and thank you for sharing!! There is a beautiful cream APC Grace available in the Matches sale...I might have to get it! https://www.matchesfashion.com/us/products/A.P.C.-Grace-small-leather-shoulder-bag-1567066#ref=womens|designers|apc

Fun to read this! I’ve admired this bag for a long time! For anyone who likes the look (and tbh price tag) of the Sezane handbags, you should look at Soeur! Their bellisima mini and maxi are very lovely!!

Oooh thanks for sharing! I also love the look of the "Bell" bag, which is even a little smaller than the bellisima mini. I prefer the clasp on these Soeur bags as they are a little bit more architectural and interesting. Will have to keep an eye on this brand!

I actually ordered and returned it for many of the reasons you listed. It looks beautiful, but I knew the smooth grain would stress me out (I have three kids!). I also already have a few clasp bags, and given how much I go in and out of my bag to get things, I think prefer bags that open at the top for the sake of practicality.

100% and such a good point about the opening!

Love this! I debated over this bag for a while, but Cocinelle just came out with something similar in the perfect brown, pebbled leather I’ve been looking for. I sprung for it, and I’m in love! I have one other cross body in pebbled leather from Cocinelle and the quality/durability is top notch. Glad you were able to recognize where this bag fell short for you and find it a happy new home!

Oooh I have never heard of Coccinelle before, but the "Dew Small" style is a very similar layout to the Mini Milo and cheaper too! I will have to keep an eye on this brand for future purchases. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, I got the dew medium because I need a slightly bigger bag. Definitely recommend! 🥰

Gahhh, I'm heartbroken but also very happy to have seen this point. I have been debating the full size Milo as a birthday gift for myself this summer. Might have to reconsider after reading your review. Thanks for the honesty. xx

Glad you find it helpful! They do have some patent leather options that help with the scratching issue, but the clasp issue might still remain.

The lululemon comment got me—I reach for that bag too! It has to be a super fancy occasion for my to use a different bag. I think my cost per wear on my lulu bag has to be like 10 cents each (I got it years ago when they were way more inexpensive, too)

The lulu bag is just so convenient!
