Hello and Happy Sunday!
We are heading off to Napa Valley next week for a friend’s wedding. I am so excited to celebrate this couple and also excited that they chose to get married in Napa…because how dreamy?? We’re going to be heading over a bit earlier to spend a few days relaxing in the valley. I’ve got a couple of vineyard and dinner reservations and I can’t wait. Have any of you been to Napa before? What are some of your favorite things to do there? Let me know in the comments!
Before we get into the main content for today, a couple of housekeeping items:
I’ll be skipping next weekend’s newsletter so that I can actually unplug and properly enjoy my little Napa summer holiday as much as possible! Thank you all for your continued support 💗 I’ll be back the following weekend to share a little recap of my trip plus some details on what I packed and wore.
I started Cost per Fit as a side passion project. I knew from the beginning that I didn’t want to paywall any posts - since this isn’t my primary job, I don’t need to rely upon it to pay my bills. This isn’t changing.
However, since these posts can take a couple of hours to put together, I was open to exploring using affiliate links so I could earn a tiny bit of compensation for the time spent in creating this content. However, anytime I used affiliate links, I felt guilty. Even though my opinions were honest - how would readers know that I was being authentic, if I could earn money from these recommendations? After struggling with it a bit internally, I’ve decided to try out a different approach.
Although my content will still be free to read for all subscribers, I’ll be turning on paid subscriptions for those who would like to support this newsletter and have the ability to do so. All recommendations in this newsletter will now be affiliate link and ad-free. If you can’t justify a paid subscription at this time, you can also make a one-time donation via the button below. If you can’t subscribe or donate at this time - no stress! All content will still be free for you to read. Thank you again for your support!
(P.S. It goes without saying that I don’t judge others for paywalling content or including affiliate links in their newsletters at all - I know for others this IS a source of income.)
Okay let’s get into it!
This week’s newsletter will focus on a couple of amazing finds from the Netaporter sale. These items sold out immediately but I’ve recently seen a lot of them pop back into stock as items are returned. These are all items that I could see myself wearing for years and years and many are made with good quality materials. You’ll have to do the cost per fit on if they’d be good additions to your closet, but if I wasn’t keeping an eye on my clothing budget at the moment, I’d definitely be adding a piece or two to mine.
Zimmerman Linen Jacket ($1015) and Trousers ($473): The perfect summer set for any 2024 brides. I could see this worn for a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or courthouse wedding! Plus it’s a timeless look so could be reworn, unlike most other wedding outfits.
Veronica Beard Dress ($240): I love the cut of this dress; the smocked detailing is perfection. My problem with denim in the summertime is that it feels like it could get really hot - the drape on this dress makes me think it wouldn’t be so bad.
Zimmerman Paisley Linen Midi Dress ($697): Okay I’m realizing this post might actually be a little biased towards brides, because this Zimmerman number would be so cute for a bridal shower or farewell brunch for a bride that didn’t want to wear strictly white. It wasn’t included in the sale until very recently so if some of you already went through Netaporter when the sale dropped, you might have missed this. Also, it’s a cute dress in general and the print on the dress doesn’t make it strictly “bridal” so you could wear it for a lot of occasions.
Zimmerman Floral Linen Midi Dress ($595): This dress is giving off major Bridgerton/Roman Cathedral vibes and I’m not mad about it. The colors in this dress are so dreamy and it would be the perfect dress for a birthday or a baby shower or if you’re planning on bopping around Italy this summer. It’s sold out in most sizes, but I keep seeing them pop back in stock. May be worth setting a notification if you’re really interested in this one!
Zimmerman Floral Linen Wrap Dress ($557): I’m also realizing that this post is turning into a bit of a Zimmerman showcase as well. What can I say? My virtual window shopping eye has expensive taste 😋 This dress is perfect for a tropical wedding or holiday. I tried on this dress in the silk version a few years ago and found that it didn’t quite sit right. I think the linen would fit much better because it’s a lighter, more textured fabric.
Stella McCartney Wool Coat ($954): A few years ago I went down a wild goose chase of trying to find the perfect wool coat. I wanted 100% wool fabrication, boxy fit but not oversized, not too long. This Stella McCartney coat took the cake. I was surprised to find that a lot of the wool coats from higher end brands still had a small percentage of polyester or other fibers - love Stella for making this one 100% wool, period. I haven’t bought it yet because I live in Texas and I don’t need this 😂 but if you live in a colder climate and want to invest in a nice coat, this is the best price I’ve seen it at.
Giuliva Heritage Wool Midi Dress ($843): The fact that this dress is $843 on sale is a bit delulu, but I know that I’ve got readers with varying budgets, so I’m going to go ahead and include it. For the rest of us, it can be in our fantasy closets 😉 This is what I imagine a James Bond heroine would wear when you first meet her - something impeccably made and tailored and classy and with jussssstt the right amount of buttons undone. If I had unlimited budget, I’d buy this and wear it as a staple for work and brunch with friends. It’s made from 100% wool because at least you’re getting quality at that price.
Tory Burch Pleated Linen Midi Dress ($258): I’ve been obsessed with green this summer and this bright emerald number caught my eye. I love the pleated detail and the slits along the sides that keep things breezy! In the pictures, it looks like it sits pretty low on the model, so this might require some altering on the straps depending on your body structure. I’d wear this on a summer vacation or brunch or date night!
That’s it for today! I’ll see you on July 14th with an update on Napa. I hope you all have a great 4th of July holiday! Enjoy a hot dog or two 🌭
Cost per Fit 💰
Enjoy Napa, report back!
I went YES out loud at the Bond girl dress! Completely agree! 😂 although stupid question - I saw it as a summer dress since it’s sleeveless, but then saw it was wool? How would you style / wear, please? Thanks!
Ps also need that Zimmerman linen….
